Side Yard Renovation
Before
After
This residential side yard was under-utilized and lacked connection to the landscape. Dirt Girl Landscaping was able to increase the functionality while adding character through effective design of new fencing, interlock and gardens. While the project is not completed in terms of planting, these photos show the progress thus far in year one.

The new fence is situated slightly back from the front of the house, allowing for new pathway gardens to configure into the overall redesign. The new gate contrasts in black metal to add a unique focal point and to allow for air-flow and sun to reach the front gardens.

The gently curving interlock pathway connects the front driveway to the side entrance. The design considered the winter snow load as well as visual impact. The curve of the pathway is mass planted with a flowering shrub hedge of Limelight Hydrangeas - for attractive, carefree beauty throughout the seasons.

Behind this new side entry, additional fencing and a new deck area was also constructed which further optimizes the side yard and expands the outdoor living area leading up to the pool (below). The combined landscape upgrades add curb appeal, functionality and value to the home and most importantly enhance the outdoor living environment for the entire family.
